Course Overview

Our Tuesday evening course is a mixed ability class, meaning you can join with any skill level. Once you have got your confidence up, you can move onto any project you would like. We often have a theme each term, which you can choose to follow or bring your own make. There can be a real variety of projects happening any given week.

What you will learn

The below list explains what a new beginner will learn. For intermediate and advanced sewers there will be a similar level of detail that can be taught.

• How to thread up a machine

• How to work with different fabrics

• Different types of stitches

• How to use a commercial pattern

• Build your confidence sewing

• Get the most out of your sewing machine

Beginners info:

We have everything you need for your first project. We take all beginners through the process of making a tote bag, and provide all the materials needed. Your tutor will give you 1 to 1 guidance and always be on hand to help. So just turn up and we will guide you every step of the way. The class is very friendly and welcoming to new comers, so you will feel at home.

If you have never sewn before, you are in the right place.

What to bring:

• We provide a sewing machine - Or bring your own.

• We have some sample fabrics for your first project.

• We provide all sewing tools and essentials - Or bring your own.
